Heritage Week 2017 – CEF Events 

We are pleased to be hosting a number of events in Cork which highlight this year’s Heritage Week focus of shining a light on nature.

SEMINAR

On Friday 25th August there is an afternoon  seminar at St. Peter’s Exhibition Centre with wonderful contributors to explore how people and nature shape our landscape:

Plastic Blackbird seeks Plastic Worm – bringing the National Landscape Strategy down to earth Terry O’Regan, Landscape Alliance Ireland

A peeler crab’s view of today’s world –pressures on  marine life and how we can contribute to more pressure or solutions – Karin Dubsky, Coastwatch

Living With Wildlife – the influence of historical urban development on our city habitats, what wildlife can persist, & what is squeezed out

Darragh Murphy, local biologist

The Cork Nature Network Urban Otter Project: Reconnecting with Nature in the City

The event will also offer an opportunity to explore and discuss how we might support implementation of the most relevant SDGs in an Irish context.

Walking tours  “How the Urban Landscape Shapes Nature” with Darragh Murphy

Saturday August 26th 2pm & 4pm

Sunday August 27th 2pm & 4pm

All tours are FREE & start from St. Peter’s Exhibition Centre, North Main Street, Cork. They are appox 1 -1.5 hours duration.
