Reuse Month – Glitz & Glamour Fashion Show 2018

The Glitz & Glamour Fashion Show returns to Cork for the third year on Saturday 27th October. Hosted at St. Peter’s Exhibition Centre the event was is organised by the Southern Regional Waste Management Office in conjunction with Cork City Council and Cork Environmental Forum.

The Show is a fabulous fashion parade from the Charity and Vintage stores in Cork. A host of volunteer models do a fantastic job of stylishly displaying the sophisticated and stunning outfits.

So if you are in town at the end of a shopping trip, catching a little early Jazz or heading out for the evening do pop in to see the variety and quality of the fashion on show. You might even bag an item from the sale rails in time for the rest of the weekend or ahead of the Christmas celebrations. Males are also catered for by a number of outlets.

This is developing into a must attend event for Cork’s fashionistas and the organisers welcome any expression of interest both from those involved and new participants.

Reuse Month is part of a nationwide initiative to change attitudes to old and disused objects, while encouraging people to repurpose, donate, sell or repair items. Pauline McDonogh of the SRWMO said “One of the most economical ways of achieving this, and getting in a bit of retail therapy is by visiting local charity, vintage or second hand shops. You would be pleasantly surprised about the range of items and value to be had there, and they cater for all tastes”

We are delighted that this event is a collaboration between retailers working in the charity and vintage sectors, the environment sector and local government.
