THE TIME OF FORESTS (LE TEMPS DE FORÊTS)

Synopsis: Dedicated to the ‘foresters who resist’, François-Xavier Drouet’s insightful documentary looks at how France’s once diversified, complex forestry has been whittled down to only a few tree species as forestry undergoes an unprecedented phase of industrialization resultant of excessive consumer demand. The consequences of over forestry and the destruction of the forest soil by the heavy mechanization, monocultures, fertilizers and pesticides, the disappearance of transmission of knowledge, of forest management, all at hugely accelerated pace.
